54 INT. ANTHROPOLOGY BUILDING BASEMENT - NIGHT 54
Suzi is sitting next to the mummy - spell components lay around
her and a pentagram drawn in blue sand surrounds her on the
floor.
Amy walks around Suzi, chanting an ancient sounding language,
while Jake sits on a crate shaking a gourd.
SUZI
Forces of chaos. Heed my call!
Suzi is once again surrounded by a BLUE LIGHT.
TRACK AROUND SUZI
She's concentrating intently on the spell. Amy's chanting grows
louder. Suzi starts to tremble slightly as the mummy starts to
GLOW BLUE as well
55 EXT. MICHAEL EVANS' HOUSE - NIGHT 55
The house stands silent in the night. Dawn FLIES THROUGH FRAME
and THROUGH a hammock, which snaps from it's chains.
ANGLE: DAWN
Tangled in the hammock, manages to extract herself. She's
starting to look tired and much worse for the wear.
INSERT - THE CHAINS
She looks down at the chains that used to hold the hammock up.
ANGLE: THE DEMONS
Advance upon Dawn. Suddenly, Nyiss #2 gets a piece of the picket
fence SHOVED THROUGH him. It roars with fury and spins around.
Behind it stands Pete.
It HITS Pete in his stomach. He goes FLYING into Tori and the
two fall backward.
That gives Dawn enough time to grab the chain at her feet and
SWING it at the Nyiss, sending one flying into the other.
DAWN
No one touches my friends.
56 INT. ANTHROPOLOGY BUILDING BASEMENT - NIGHT 56
The whole area is now filled with a SWIRLING BLUE LIGHT. Amy has
stopped chanting, but Jake is still shaking the gourd
feverishly.
SUZI
Forces of darkness, find your
instruments and cast them away!
At this, some of the BLUE LIGHT, jets out of the window and into
the sky.
57 EXT. ANTHROPOLOGY BUILDING - NIGHT 57
The BLUE LIGHT soars above the building like a geyser.
58 EXT. MICHAEL EVANS' HOUSE - NIGHT 58
The two Nyiss stop what they're doing and look at the sky.
ANGLE: THE BLUE LIGHT
Is glowing above the Anthropology Building in campus. The Nyiss
run towards the blue light - they want to stop the spell. Duh!
Dawn runs and helps Pete and Tori up onto their feet.
DAWN
Come on. We can't let them get to
the Anthro building.
They start running towards the Anthropology Building. TRACK WITH
THEM AS THEY RUN.
TORI
What happened?
DAWN
Suzi happened.
(points)
Look.
Tori and Pete glance at the sky and see the blue light.
PETE
Damn, that girl has some serious
stuff!
59 INT. ANTHROPOLOGY BUILDING BASEMENT - NIGHT 59
Suzi is still doing the spell. She looks like she's in pain. She
opens her eyes wide - THEY'RE PURE WHITE.
She starts speaking loudly in the same ancient tongue that Amy
had been chanting earlier.
Suddenly, the wall EXPLODES INWARD, showering Suzi, Amy, and
Jake with Debris. The dust settles, REVEALING they two Nyiss
advancing on Suzi.
Jake drops his gourd and picks up the lead pipe he had been
fighting with earlier. He stands between the Nyiss and Suzi.
JAKE
Don't come any closer!
The demons come closer. They do the demonic equivalent of sneer -
showing total contempt for Jake.
Nyiss #1 moves towards Suzi, who's chanting has gotten even more
intense.
JAKE (CONT'D)
Hey! I told you...
He HITS Nyiss #1 in the head with the PIPE. He does it again and
again, taking out all his frustration on the demon - who looks a
bit weaker - not because of Jake, though.
JAKE (CONT'D)
Don't come closer!
THWACK, a two-by-four (from the basement), wielded by Dawn hits
the demon in the back and impales it through its center. It
staggers back and begins to try and pull the piece of wood out.
Dawn turns to Jake, breathing hard.
DAWN
(casual)
Hey. Can I borrow that?
She indicates the pipe, which Jake happily gives to her. Dawn
launches a flying swing at Nyiss #2, who was about to pounce on
Amy.
ANGLE: SUZI
Is glowing a rainbow of colors. It's hard to see her, there's so
much light.
SUZI
Be gone!
The LIGHT EXPLODES OUTWARDS. When it touches the Nyiss, they
vanish and are replaced by two komodo dragons.
Dawn, who had been on top of one of them, falls to the ground
next to one of the creatures with an groan.
Suzi faints. Jake catches her and then looks around at everyone
else. Pete and Tori stand in the opening that once was a wall
and look in.
AMY
Well...
JAKE
Yeah...
DAWN
We did it.
TORI
Whooh.
A beat.
PETE
Now would be a bad time to point
out that there's still a mummy
and two komodo dragons to deal
with, right?
Tori hits Pete in the head playfully. He grins at her.
Jake looks up as an idea hits him:
JAKE
I may have a solution to our
little mummy problem...
60 EXT. MAIN TULANE QUAD - DAY 60
Dawn and Tori are walking through the main quad, having just
gotten out of their morning class. WE TRACK WITH THEM as they
walk.
TORI
Talked to Amy at all since last
night?
DAWN
Nope. She had to deal with stuff
like that.
Dawn points to the Anthropology Building, where a work crew is
starting work on the broken basement wall.
DAWN (CONT'D)
And...
But she cuts off, seeing something funny O.S. Dawn starts to
laugh, and when Tori sees it, she laughs too.
ANGLE: A BENCH
In the middle of the quad is surrounded by a group of students.
They part when Dean Prichard and the two FBI Agents come to
see...
The Mummy, dressed up in a Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses and
with an Alpha Epsilon Pi banner draped over it, is sitting on
the bench. It's as if it were a frat prank.
ANGLE: JAKE AND SUZI
Walk over and join Dawn and Tori to watch the commotion.
JAKE
Like my handiwork?
TORI
Good stuff.
JAKE
Wait. The best is yet to come.
ANGLE: AMY
Walks through the crowd with Larry, the frat brother, right
behind her. She turns around, and although we can't hear what
she says, it's obvious she's not happy.
The Dean and then the FBI Agents start to question Larry. Amy
backs away - we can see she's trying to hide a smile
JAKE (CONT'D)
Now that makes my day.
The foursome walk off to class, with the knowledge of a job well
done. We...
PASS BEHIND A TREE TRUNK AND
MATCH CUT TO:
61 INT. MYSTIC CURIOS VOODOO SHOP - DAY 61
We DOLLY OUT from behind a bookcase in the small shop. Laurent
Gautier is busy sorting some herbs next to one wall, humming to
himself quietly.
WE POST DOWN TO THE FLOOR as the door behind Laurent opens, and
two black patent leather mens' shoes enter the shop. Laurent,
thinking that it's Jess, doesn't turn around as the door closes
behind the stranger.
LAURENT
Jessamine. Back so soon?
CLOSE ON: LAURENT'S FACE
As he turns around. It's not Jessamine - and what he sees scares
him. He drops the herbs he was holding and his breathing becomes
ragged. The stranger takes a few steps towards Laurent, still
O.S.
When he speaks - His voice is deep and has a Caribbean accent.
We recognize it as the voice from Dawn's dream in the Pilot.
VOICE (O.S.)
Now Mr. Gautier. We are going to
have a little chat.
PUSH IN ON LARENT'S FACE
He's very scared now.
VOICE (O.S.) (CONT'D)
What do you know about the
Slayer?
BLACK OUT:
